FORTUNE (Formerly Luo Han) KORAMANGALA

FORTUNE KORAMANGALA (FORMERLY LUO HAN) In a world where most desi Chinese restaurants lean heavily towards non vegetarian options, it was a pleasant surprise to hear of an all vegetarian Chinese place and I had a look at their menu...the vegetarian options are vast and varied. They do not have paneer on the menu but have homemade tofu. I heard this place was a hit when it was located in HSR earlier and went by the name Luo Han. but now it is operating from a home, tucked away in Koramangala with limited seating. Ambience: Homely and Cozy with lovely Chinese décor..I asked the owner if I need to remove my footwear before entering…it was that homely Staff: There aren't many as it is a family run business but the owner is very polite and courteous. Prices: Very pocket friendly The Food: Takes time since everything is freshly prepared but totally worth the wait. This is a two visit review. Visit one by myself. I had Crispy fried wontons: Freshly made, crunchy vegetable wonton with chilli sauce to go with. I enjoyed this. Chilli garlic fried rice: Good. Wasn’t very spicy. Sweet sour vegetables gravy: good but not great. More sweet than a blend of flavors. I thought the fried rice would be super spicy and this would balance it out but the rice wasn't all that spicy. Overall taste was good though. Portions are enough for two people to share. Second visit I took a friend along. We had Vegetable mini spring roll: Good just a smaller version of the spring rolls available in most Chinese places Crispy Fried Gold Bag: This tasted a lot like the spring roll, just in the shape of a money bag Crispy tofu balls...these were like vegetable bondas with Tofu in it. It was the best out of all the starters. I found some of the starters a tad salty. You can customize it how you want. For the Main Course we shared a Chinese Crispy chopsuey topped with vegetables in white sauce...This was awesome! Crispy noodles served piping hot with spicy sauce. We loved it. I ended it with Chinese tea to digest it all. Overall, both times it was a delightful, relaxed experience. Great place to sit and savor the food by yourself or chat comfortably with a friend if you reach early. Food really takes a while to reach your table so better to order all items early and at one go unless you have a lot of time. It would be good to call ahead and go. Would I recommend to others : Yes. Do visit this place if, like me, you want to eat all vegetarian Chinese food. Would I visit again: Definitely! Longing to try other items on the menu. Overall rating 4.5/5 1-No! No! No! 2-Just about average 3- Good. Can give it a try 4-Great!! 5-Yes! Yes! Yes! And I’ll tell all about it. Details: 403, 1st B Cross Rd, behind Chai Chowk, KHB Colony, 7th Block, Koramangala, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560095. Phone: 099861 92288 11 am onwards
