ONAM SADHYA AT GLASS KITCHEN AND BAR HOLIDAY INN SESHADRI ROAD
ONAM SADHYA AT GLASS KITCHEN AND BAR
Every year I look for a new place to have Onam Sadhya in my city. I have to choose carefully though because last year was quite a disaster. This year 2026, I was spoilt for choice with every other restaurant offering Sadhya. After some deliberation I choose Glass Kitchen and Bar in Holiday that was offering the Onam Sadhya and looked appealing.
Ambience: Quiet, wonderful view from the window, very neat and bright. I was the early bird and had the place all to myself.
Menu: Everything from Pathimugam which is an ayurvedic herbal water to the banana in the end was good...what stood out best were the mango and Narthangai pickle, vellarika Pachadi, eriserry, katti paruppu dal with ghee and really delicious sambar. What did not work for me was the pineapple Pachadi and I wish there wasn't an “onion like smell” in the buttermilk.
While I understand the tradition is to serve Chemba rice or Kerala parboiled rice, I also wish they asked customers preferences for white rice at the start itself before serving. I have had other places giving me this option. The rice wasn’t bad though. Just different. Rest of the items were very tasty and just as it should be for the Sadhya.
Price: Slightly high but it was jacked up in most places this year. Was it worth it? I felt so because end of the day, it was a satisfying meal.
I wanted to taste everything but without wasting food so asked them to serve only two to three spoons of everything except rice and papad
Service: Top notch. Very prompt and attentive.
The whole place was decked up with flowers at the table and traditional cut outs of dancers and Malayalam music playing in the background. Not over or under done. Just right.
Would I recommend to others: Yes if they have the Sadhya next year and maintain the same consistency.
Would I visit again: Maybe to try their other food and whenever I want to chillax. Preferably on a weekday.
